May is here, the Wisteria is in bloom, and Calvert County is coming alive for Spring!
We are excited to introduce you to the many activities occurring on the island and surrounding areas. First up? The Solomons Marine Festival this weekend, May 7th! Celebrate Southern Maryland traditions! Antique boats and motors, master maritime carvers, cooking demonstrations, traditional music, toy boat building, and boat rides offer something for all members of the family! This is a free event. We still have a couple of rooms available so book now!
Also Saturday is the Mother’s Day Market @ Annmarie Sculpture Garden. Find that special gift for mom from vendors offering handmade, homemade and homegrown.
Next Saturday, May 14th, No Thyme to Cook presents their 2nd Annual Wine Festival. A festival of live music, delicious food and excellent wine while you shop from local vendors. All walking distance from the Solomons Victorian Inn.
Feeling crafty? The nearby Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum will sponsor Basket Weaving: Twill Weave Market Basket. Learn the herringbone or twill weave to create a market basket.
May 20th brings the Night at the Museum for Friends with Disabilities at the Calvert Marine museum. A fun-filled evening and cruise at the Calvert Marine Museum.
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center sponsors the Annmarie After Hours: Opening Reception for Strange Paradise An extended evening in the garden with live music as you stroll the gardens on May 27th!
Later the same weekend look into PyroJam at the Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum. Finally, No Thyme to Cook is doing Farm to Table Pop-Up Dinner. Enjoy a four-course menu featuring locally sourced ingredients from Southern Maryland farmers and artisans.
Coming this summer The Calvert Marine Museum’s 2022 Waterside Music Series is back at PNC’s Waterside Pavilion, and they have announced their concerts:
