Our philosophy is to keep things simple. You can relax, wind down, and take a break from the routine and stress of everyday life. Take a breath of fresh air! But first, the day starts with a delicious three-course breakfast taken in our bright and airy enclosed porch. We are happy to accommodate most all special dietary requests. This includes gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and, of course, any allergies. For those who cannot join us for breakfast, or would like a light option, there are continental style choices available 24/7.
Then the island is yours – walking, jogging, boating and biking are all easy from our central location. The best news is there are no hills or stormy seas to negotiate. Whatever the season, there is always something to do. For those who like to keep the grey matter active, learn all about the history, culture, economics and geology of the area at our wonderful Calvert Marine Museum and Drum Point Lighthouse. Then visit the home of the local oyster industry at J.C Lore Oyster House. Further afield, be inspired by the fusion of art and nature at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. Check out historic Saint Mary’s City, one of the local wineries, or Sotterley Plantation.

When you return to the inn, you can unwind and enjoy homemade cookies, coffee cakes, and other treats, individually plated for each room. Enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee, then sit on the front porch, and watch all the activity in the marina. Free tea and coffee are available 24/7. We do not have a liquor license, but you are welcome to bring your own adult beverage or visit The Terrapin Tasting Room, which is just a short walk away.
To wrap up the day, you have the choice of many outstanding restaurants, all within easy walking distance. For our free-spirited, fun-loving guests, we are delighted to say the ‘world-famous’ Tiki Bar is open for business, featuring their famous Mai Tai and delicious crab balls!
