Many folks know Solomons Island for boating, fishing, beautiful sunsets, and wonderful restaurants.
But many do not realize the plethora of live music events and individuals available on Maryland’s best kept secret, Solomons Island.
Starting with a restaurant, The Charles Street Brasserie features local artists like Ben Connelly and Jazzy Coleman. And, of course, Joe Martone on piano most weekend evenings and Sunday brunch. Walk across the street from here at Solomons Victorian Inn enjoy these diverse musical styling.
No conversation about music on the island would be complete without talking about the world renown Tiki Bar! Of course, the official opening weekend will feature very popular bands Amish Outlaws and The Reagan Years, on April 23rd. Every weekend this summer will feature live music from the likes of Hit or Miss, Star Crush, and Weird Science. Check out their Facebook page for their lineup and frequent updates.
Even the CD Café gets into the swing of things, with Ben Connelly on Tuesdays.
Then there is the Calvert Marine Museum. Not only does the Museum sponsor their annual Waterside concert series, which I will discuss next, but they have expanded their offerings with their Maritime Performance Series. There is still one show left of the series, Lulu’s Fate appears on April 28th.
The CMM Waterside Music Series was just announced, with a line up of National Country Western and Reggae stars. The season starts on May 26th with Gold and Platinum recording artist Dustin Lynch.
Other performers include eight-time Grammy winner Ziggy Marley, perfect music for the island, country stars Lee Brice and Brett Young. I understand there will be one more exciting artist announced soon! You can get tickets directly through the Calvert Marine Museum.
I would be remiss if I didn’t do a little shameless self-promotion and remind you of our Special Music Package we have put together for the Waterside Music series. The package includes two Priemeir-1 tickets to the concert, entrance to the museum itself, a cruise on the Wm. B. Tennyson and a $100 voucher for dinner at the CD Café. Packages are available with any two nights stay here at Solomons Victorian Inn.
This summer is shaping up to be a wonderful music filled season…. Don’t miss out!
